Small acts of Service.

On this nice, warm, summer morning.
I woke up and I thought to myself...
ahhh. Today.. I will go swimming.
I will get tan and wear my new swimsuit.
Then, I'll go shopping and use my gift cards I still haven't used since my birthday.
Then, I'll get ready and go to mutual.
and somewhere in between I'll do my jobs and go to the gym.
Now that would be the perfect summer day!
Shopping. Tanning. Swimming.

Plans aren't going as they seem.

I got a letter from one of my leaders. Probably the 4th letter I have gotten from her and I haven't replied to one yet.
So, I am going to reply to this one and let her know how much her little cards mean to me.
They are simple. Sweet. Loving. and they show that she cares.
It wasn't a text. It wasn't a message on Facebook. It wasn't an email.
It was a hand written letter. Short and sweet. To the point. She took some time out of her day, to make my day a little bit better.
Thank you.

That made me realize what is actually important.
Today, I am going to write some letters
that I have been meaning to write.
I am going to visit this cute lady in my ward
who I have been meaning to visit.
Today, I'll do the things I never have time to do,
or things that I  have put off doing.

Love, Madi Louise

Adventure #1. Girls Camp!

Complete.
Possibly the most amazing week of my life.
With the most amazing leaders and young women.
These girls are my friends.
They are everything I need.
They lift me up and teach me by there example.
Words can not explain how much we all grew together over the past week.
I'm so grateful for the opportunity that I had to get away from the world and to just focus on what really matters.
It puts your life into such a different perspective that I needed to remember.

Over all.
I learned that with Christ...
you truly have everything.
I may not be perfect. For no one is.
But I know with Christ, I am one step closer.

Our whole camp was centered on him and finding our way back home.
We focused on each value and learned about each one and why it is important.
some of my favorite quotes..

"Virtue is a requirement to have the companionship and guidance of the Holy Ghost. You will need that guidance in order to successfully navigate the world in which you live. Being virtuous is a requirement to enter the temple. And it is a requirement to stand in the Savior's presence. You are preparing now for that time."

"Integrity means always doing what is right, regardless of the immediate consequences. It means being righteous from the very depth of our soul, not only in our actions but, more importantly, in our thoughts and in our hearts. Personal integrity implies such trustworthiness that we are implacable of being false to a trust or covenant."

The most amazing experience was the last day, before testimony meeting.
I'm not sure how to write about this experience or share it because it means so much to me.
and all of the other girls.
Words can not describe how it felt.
Words can not describe the over powering feeling that was in that room.
Words can not re-live the experience.
It was truly special and truly sacred.
I hope and wish that everyone could have that experience and feel what we all felt.
That feeling brings hope.
It gives us light. It leads the way.
We know what to do and we know how to get back home.
We all can do it. For the path has been paved.
It's up to us to decide to follow it or not.
To seek Christ in our life and to come to him.
He is always there. We just need to run to him.
To knock, and he will open up the door unto us.
He wants to let us in.
He loves us.
We are Sons and Daughters of our Heavenly Father.
and our Savior, Jesus Christ, died for our sins.
He loved us that much..

Each girl had a section from The Living Christ that we would recite for each other.
My section .. "He was the Firstborn of the Father, the Only Begotten Son in the flesh, the Redeemer of the world. He rose from the grave to become the firstfruits of them that slept."
It was such a powerful thing as each girl stood and read there part.
Christ was and is the center of our lives and we will strive to keep it that way.

That much I will never forget.
Those experiences we shared together, away from the world and as young women will remain in my heart for forever.
Thank you for that.
I needed you all in my life.
We are all here for a purpose.
For someone else, for ourselves, for everyone.

Love, Madeliene Louise

Today I would like to say.

that I love sun hats.
I recently purchased one and it was the best thing I have ever spent my money on.
I'm saving up for Paris...
But this was allowed because I could not pass it up!!
So I guess you could say my hat is as good as Paris!
Well, to me at least! :)
I find myself asking if I can wear it to work? Would that be acceptable?
Can I dance with my hat?
Can I hike with my hat?
I love this sun hat.
Pictures below.
P.s. My sun hat will be a great compliment on me in Paris. (hahaha that's my excuse.)
anywho... It is summer. Happiness here I come!
Much love.

The Perfect Sunny Saturday Morning.

After having a sleepover with my best friend..
I walk outside to find the sun pouring down and the birds chirping.
I hop in my car, roll down the windows, and turn my favorite song on.
As I enjoy my 10-15 minute drive to my house...
I smell the fresh air and the sun beating down on my face.
I think to myself ahhh! I want to go on a run and I can not wait for summer!
I smile at the people who laugh at me dancing in my car at stop lights and stop signs.
I'm almost home when I see a young lad with a lemonade sign.
I pass by...
I reconsider.
I flip a quick U-turn and pull up to the little boy.
He quickly grabs his sign and shows me that his lemonade is for sale for 25 cents.
I gave him 2 quarters and 1 dime (because thats what I randomly grabbed out of my wallet).
I loved when people always gave me and my friends more money than we asked for when we used to do lemonade stands. So i thought I should return the favor. I always loved the people who would say, "Oh I don't want any lemonade, but here is a dollar!" I thought they were the nicest people in the world and it made my trip to the dollar store after that, that much better!
I'm not that nice though, I took the lemonade to give to my brother.
I took a sip before hand, it was basically lemon water... with a little kick to it I suppose.
Cute little boy probably made it himself.
Today is going to be a good day.
I can feel it.
Good luck little one.
I hope you make bank! :)

Love, Madi Louise.
